As part of AS Program Board, I had the opportunity to plan my own events, including a Concert in the Park and an AAPI celebration. This year marked the return of park shows designed to bring live music, community, and culture to the heart of Isla Vista.
What had to be done?
As Graphics Coordinator, I led the visual direction for events I personally planned through AS Program Board, including the return of Concerts in the Park and the AAPI-centered “Beats & Boba.” I created all visual assets including posters, social media content, and promotional graphic, as well as supported marketing efforts to build campus-wide excitement and turnout.
Beyond design, I played a key role in event logistics: researching artists, communicating with agents, booking vendors for lighting, security, and production, and coordinating hospitality. I also handled setup, cleanup, and created detailed day-of-show sheets to ensure everything ran smoothly.
